This change will also be included in the February 2023 security update and all future security updates for these Windows versions.<\/div>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div>In support of our plan to <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/privacy\/eudb\/eu-data-boundary-learn\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">  store and process EU Data for European enterprise customers in the EU<\/a>,&nbsp;policies such as the ?Allow commercial data pipeline? policy will no longer be used to configure data processor options. Instead, an organization-wide configuration based on Azure Active   Directory (Azure AD) will determine Microsoft?s role in the data processing.<\/div>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div>We?re making this change to help ensure that diagnostic data for all devices in an organization is processed in a consistent way, and in the same geographic region. We are also making this change for greater efficiency and to help us implement our plan   to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/privacy\/eudb\/eu-data-boundary-learn\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">store and process EU Data for European enterprise customers in the EU<\/a>. For more details on these changes, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/windows\/privacy\/changes-to-windows-diagnostic-data-collection#significant-changes-coming-to-the-windows-diagnostic-data-processor-configuration\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Significant   changes coming to the Windows diagnostic data processor configuration<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div><strong>When will this happen:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div>The change has been introduced with the January 2023 release preview cumulative update for Windows 10, versions 20H2, 21H2 and 22H2, and Windows 11, versions 21H2 and 22H2.&nbsp;Future security updates for these Windows versions will also include these changes.<\/div>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div><strong>How this will affect your organization:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div>Currently, to enroll devices in the Window diagnostic data processor configuration option, IT admins can use policies, such as ?Allow commercial data pipeline,? at the individual device level.&nbsp;These policies will no longer be used. Instead, devices that   are joined to an Azure AD tenant with a billing address in the EU or EFTA will be automatically enrolled into the processor configuration option.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div>Devices that are joined to an Azure AD tenant with a billing address outside of the EU or EFTA, must be signed up for any of the enterprise service to enable the processor configuration option. Otherwise:&nbsp;<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>The processor configuration will be disabled in any devices that were previously enabled.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft will act as the controller for Windows diagnostic data in accordance with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/privacy.microsoft.com\/privacystatement\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft Privacy Statement<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The?<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/licensing\/docs\/view\/Microsoft-Products-and-Services-Data-Protection-Addendum-DPA\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Data Protection Addendum<\/a>?terms won&#8217;t apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div>As part of this change, the following policies will no longer be supported to configure the processor option:&nbsp;Allow commercial data pipeline<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Allow commercial data pipeline<\/li>\n<li>Allow Desktop Analytics Processing<\/li>\n<li>Allow Update Compliance Processing<\/li>\n<li>Allow WUfB Cloud Processing<\/li>\n<li>Configure the Commercial ID<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>  <\/div>\n<div>It&#8217;s recommended Insiders on these devices pause flighting if these changes aren&#8217;t acceptable.
