Updated February 2, 2023: Starting February 1 2023, Microsoft Managed Desktop expedite functionality is General Available. For more details on the feature, please refer to the public preview announcement below.<\/p>\n

Microsoft Managed Desktop assesses threat and vulnerability information on an ongoing basis across your service-managed devices. By default, the service expedites quality updates as needed. For those organizations seeking greater control, you will soon have the option to disable expedited Windows quality updates for Microsoft Managed Desktop enrolled devices. <\/p>\n

[When will this happen:] <\/p>\n

Starting this week, as part of a public preview, organizations will be empowered to disable expedited quality updates for devices enrolled in Microsoft Managed Desktop. <\/p>\n

[How will this affect your organization:] <\/p>\n

Global Administrator access is required to change this new setting while other roles will simply be able to view the setting. To disable expedited quality updates, visit the Devices<\/b> pane in the Endpoint Manager admin center<\/a>, then select Microsoft Managed Desktop<\/b> > Release management<\/b>. Under the Release settings<\/b> tab, you will see the option to disable expedited quality updates. <\/p>\n

[What you need to do to prepare:] <\/p>\n

No action is required to take advantage of expedited quality updates in Microsoft Managed Desktop. After December 16, 2022, if you choose to disable expedited quality updates, visit the Release management<\/b> pane on the Endpoint Manager admin center<\/a> to change the setting. If you have any questions or concerns or need assistance, file a Microsoft Managed Desktop service request<\/b> in the Endpoint Manager admin center<\/a>. <\/p>\n
