Updated January 5, 2024: We have updated the rollout timeline below. Thank you for your patience.<\/p>\n

The latest version of Teams Rooms on Windows app 4.19 update includes the support joining a Teams live event as an attendee. <\/p>\n

[When this will happen:] <\/p>\n

Standard Release: We will begin rolling out mid-November and expect to complete it by late January 2024 (previously late December). <\/p>\n

[How this will affect your organization:] <\/p>\n

Teams Rooms on Windows can now join a Teams live event as an attendee and watch the streaming experience. Please follow the steps below:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Create a meeting using your work account\u2019s Teams Calendar or Outlook Calender on desktop or mobile.<\/li>\n
  2. Add a conference room (a Microsoft Teams Rooms account) as an attendee directly to the meeting invite. <\/li>\n
  3. Remove any values in the \u201cLocation\u201d and “Body text\u201d fields on the invite. Please make sure the invite does NOT attach any other Teams meeting link that can be automatically created depending on your setting. <\/li>\n
  4. Copy and paste a Teams live event link for attendees into the \u201cLocation\u201d field on your invite. Don\u2019t paste it in the “Body text\u201d field. <\/li>\n
  5. Send the meeting invite.<\/li>\n
  6. The Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows at the conference room you invited should get the invite and show the \u201cJoin\u201d button. <\/li>\n
  7. Click the \u201cJoin\u201d button and enjoy the streaming experience for Teams live event attendees. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
