More info: This issue affects the following Microsoft 365 desktop apps for Mac: AutoUpdate, Defender, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams. Users that have access to the corresponding mobile or web apps can use these to bypass the problem while we address this impact.<\/p>\n

Current status: We’ve begun deployment of a configuration change to our test environments so that we can validate whether it remediates the impact before it is rolled out. We expect this to be completed by the time of our next update, after which we can determine a timeline for the roll out.<\/p>\n

Scope of impact: Any user attempting to utilize any Microsoft 365 service desktop app for Mac may be affected by this event.<\/p>\n

Root cause: A recent configuration change may be causing some users’ Microsoft 365 service desktop apps for Mac to shut down and reinstall.<\/p>\n
