More info: This issue was caused by a CrowdStrike Falcon agent update interacting with the Windows OS.<\/p>\n

CrowdStrike has communicated to customers directly through their support portal and have released a public statement addressing the matter with recommendations and information for workarounds and recovery options: www.crowdstrike.com\/blog\/statement-on-windows-sensor-update\/<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Customers could restore their Cloud PC to a known good state prior to the release of the update (July 19, 2024) as documented below:
1. Enterprise: learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-365\/enterprise\/restore-overview<\/a>
2. Business: learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-365\/business\/restore-overview<\/a> <\/p>\n

To determine which Cloud PCs needed to be restored, administrators who managed their Cloud PCs with Intune could see a list of impacted devices from the Intune admin center. To view this report, they would need to visit Intune Portal -> Devices -> Overview -> Cloud PC Performance -> Devices with connection issues.<\/p>\n

Devices listed as “ErrorResourceUnavailable” or “ErrorResourceUnavailable_CustomerInitiatedActions” could have been affected by this issue.<\/p>\n

Final status: After an extended period of monitoring, we\u2019ve determined this incident has been largely mitigated and has returned to acceptable thresholds following the significant decrease in the number of impacted devices. Based on our available telemetry we\u2019ve identified a small number of organizations who may still be experiencing some residual impact and have published communications to those customers directly under WP823705 to troubleshoot their devices separately. We\u2019re confident the issue will not resurface; however, we\u2019ll continue to monitor CrowdStrikes progress and are prepared to take action if additional impact does occur. We appreciate your consideration and understand how impactful this event has been to your organization and thank you for your continued trust with our service during these external impacting event scenarios. <\/p>\n

Scope of impact: Impact was specific to customers affected by a recent update to CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor software. Linux and iOS devices weren\u2019t impacted by this issue. Additionally, Windows instances and other Microsoft services that don\u2019t use CrowdStrike weren\u2019t affected by this issue.<\/p>\n
