Users of Microsoft Syntex can soon split a PDF file into multiple PDFs with the Extract file action in OneDrive for iOS. The Extract file action lets you quickly split and extract multiple pages of a PDF into a new PDF file stored in SharePoint or OneDrive.<\/p>\n

We will begin rolling out in late April and expect to complete rollout by late May. <\/p>\n

[How this will affect your organization:] <\/p>\n

Syntex users won\u2019t have to worry about sharing unnecessary information from a large PDF file. Splitting a large PDF file into multiple, smaller files lets users tailor the information they want to view or share with others.<\/p>\n

To split a PDF file in Syntex using the Extract action: <\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Open the PDF file you want to split in OneDrive for iOS. <\/li>\n
  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap the horizontal bar or drag the bottom menu up to expand the new menu. <\/li>\n
  3. Under File<\/i> actions, select Extract<\/i>.<\/li>\n
  4. Choose the page(s) you want to separate and tap Extract<\/i>.<\/li>\n
  5. Select a location to save the extracted PDF.<\/li>\n
  6. After the new PDF is done processing, a Your PDF is ready<\/i> banner will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap Open<\/i> from the banner to access your new file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note<\/b>: Some users may see this feature before others within your organization. PDF extraction is available only for Microsoft Syntex licensed users; users without a Syntex license will not see the feature. We will bring the capability to other clients, including OneDrive, SharePoint and Syntex browsers soon.<\/p>\n
